Police detain CPI(M) leaders as 'Chalo Lok Bhavan' protest blocked

Police detained leaders of the CPI(M), CITU, Students Federation of India (SFI) and other trade unions who were preparing to march to Lok Bhavan as part of a 'Chalo Lok Bhavan' protest on Wednesday.

The demonstration was called to voice concerns over alleged irregularities in the Statutory Instrument Regulations (SIR) and to express solidarity with ongoing agitations at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.

The police action prevented the protest from proceeding, with multiple union leaders taken into custody ahead of the planned march.
