Police use tear gas, water cannons on Qaumi Insaf marchers in Chandigarh

Police deployed tear gas and water cannons against Qaumi Insaf morcha protesters in Chandigarh on Wednesday as they marched toward the Punjab Governor's residence at Lok Bhavan. Some demonstrators tried to remove barricades and barbed wire, while others attempted to pull them down using a tractor to push forward.

The confrontation escalated as security personnel resisted the protesters' advance. The movement has called for a Punjab bandh on August 21 in continuation of their agitation.
