Police detain CJP leaders, 600+ supporters ahead of planned Delhi protest
Police took preventive action against a planned protest by detaining CJP leaders and supporters across Delhi. Among those held were Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das, and Ashutosh Ranka, who were detained at the airport. More than 600 people were held in total as authorities moved to preempt the demonstration.
The CJP and associated student organizations condemned the detentions as a violation of democratic freedoms and the right to peaceful assembly. They characterized the police action as an assault on constitutional values and democratic rights.
