Police officer in Gem Granites case transferred amid extortion probe

ACP M.A. Yasmin of Koyambedu has been placed on 'vacancy reserve' on administrative grounds, according to sources. Yasmin was the first officer to handle the Gem Granites case involving businessman Veeramani.

The transfer comes as police investigate allegations that certain political functionaries extorted money from the businessman. The investigation into the extortion charges remains ongoing.
