ODI cricket will be played 'less and less' in future, says Ponting

Ricky Ponting has forecast that One Day International cricket will see diminishing play in the coming years. The former Australian captain believes the format faces a gradual decline in its prominence.
However, Ponting expressed confidence that Test cricket will continue to thrive, particularly because of the strength of what he calls the 'Big Four' teams: South Africa, India, Australia, and England. He expects these nations to sustain the longest format of the game.
