Students Are Free Today: Abhijeet Dipke's Mother After Pradhan Resigns Over NEET Crisis

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi following mounting pressure from ongoing NEET paper leak protests. Pradhan, who served in the position for a second consecutive term, stated that irregularities in the May 3, 2026 examination prompted the decision. The NEET test was cancelled after the paper leaked, and a re-examination was scheduled. The Government of India handed the investigation to the CBI.
Following Pradhan's resignation, Abhijeet Dipke's mother, activist and founder of the Cockroach Janta Party, expressed relief at the student movement's impact. Speaking to media in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, she said, "I am very happy that the students are free today. I feel proud." She recalled the hardship after her son was attacked and slapped during the protests, noting she could not sleep out of fear.
