INDIA bloc challenges electoral roll revisions, courts legal experts amid regime change debate

The INDIA bloc has challenged the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and sought judicial intervention, alleging irregularities in the process. Senior advocate Prashant Bhushan and activist Neha Bora have become central figures in the widening confrontation over electoral integrity and voter-list revisions.
Bhushan's recent remarks defending citizens' democratic right to pursue regime change have drawn sharp political reactions and added another dimension to the dispute. The bloc contends that the electoral roll revision process shows signs of political bias, though the Election Commission has denied such allegations.
The controversy raises questions about the nature of the INDIA bloc's campaign—whether it is primarily aimed at protecting voters' rights or represents a broader political confrontation. Debates continue over the boundaries between legitimate democratic dissent and political escalation, as well as concerns about protest tactics and public order.
