President appoints two Additional Judges to Gauhati High Court

The President of India has appointed Nchumbemo Mozhui and Helen Dawngliani as Additional Judges of the Gauhati High Court for a period of two years. The appointments were notified by the Department of Justice on September 8, 2026, and are made under Article 224(1) of the Constitution.

The appointments take effect from the dates the two appointees assume office. Mozhui is an Advocate, while Dawngliani is a Judicial Officer. The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended both candidates on August 18, 2026, for appointment as Judges of the Gauhati High Court.
