President Murmu to attend Muria Durbar in Chhattisgarh

President Droupadi Murmu will undertake a two-day visit to Chhattisgarh beginning October 22, with plans to attend the Muria Durbar on October 23, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced on Friday.
The Muria Durbar is a traditional assembly of the Muria tribe, an indigenous group in Bastar region of Chhattisgarh. The gathering represents a living legacy of democratic governance practices developed by the state's tribal communities over generations.
The President's attendance at the event underscores recognition of India's tribal heritage and indigenous systems of participatory decision-making that have existed prior to formal state structures.
