'Public Service Earns Public Trust': BJP Leaders Hold Special Prayers As PM Modi Sets New Tenure Record

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday reached a landmark moment in his political career by becoming India's longest continuously serving elected Prime Minister, triggering celebrations among Bharatiya Janata Party leaders and supporters across the country.
To mark the occasion, BJP leaders visited temples and offered prayers for Modi's health and long life, describing the achievement as a significant chapter in India's democratic journey. Several party leaders gathered at religious sites in different states, while messages of congratulations poured in from senior members of the ruling alliance.
Reflecting on the milestone, Modi shared a message on social media emphasizing the values of service and accountability in public life. He wrote, "Public service is the biggest test of good governance. Only a person who works continuously with humility, dedication and dutifulness earns public trust."
In New Delhi, BJP National President Nitin Nabin joined party MPs Harsh Malhotra and Bansuri Swaraj in offering prayers at a temple to commemorate the occasion.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta praised Modi's tenure and said, "Today, the PM has completed the longest tenure of any Prime Minister serving the country—a tenure marked by continuous service without taking a single day off... Today, every citizen of the country wishes to thank him and express deep gratitude for his contribution toward a 'Viksit Bharat'."
Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal also congratulated the Prime Minister, stating, "Today is a matter of great pride for all of us that under the able leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India is touching new heights. I am fully confident that his popularity will increase even more in the country and the world."
Meanwhile, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal described the day as historic and said, "It is a very special day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi began his journey to serve people, leading India with development and good governance. Under his leadership, the nation’s honour has risen at home and abroad."
Adding to the chorus of praise, Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav said, "It is a matter of great fortune for all of us that under the leadership of PM Modi for the past 12 years, the country has witnessed new dimensions of development, security and prosperity."
Modi first assumed office in 2014 and subsequently secured victories in the 2019 and 2024 Lok Sabha elections, becoming the first Prime Minister after Jawaharlal Nehru to win three consecutive general elections. His latest achievement further strengthens his position among the most influential leaders in India's political history.
