Punjab teachers trained to identify drug use among students early

Punjab has launched a programme to train teachers to identify early indicators of drug use among school students. The training aims to equip educators with skills to recognise behavioural and physical signs of substance abuse in classrooms.
The initiative is part of efforts to address drug-related issues in educational institutions across the state. Teachers are being provided with knowledge about common drugs, their effects, and warning signs that may indicate student involvement.
The programme seeks to enable early intervention and support systems for affected students, working alongside school administration and parents to tackle the growing concern.
