Agricultural University Launches Weather-Resilient Crop Diversification Initiative

Punjab's agricultural university has announced a new 'Innovation to Impact' programme focused on climate-adaptive farming practices. According to vice-chancellor Prof. Aldas Janaiah, the initiative seeks to bridge technological gaps in cultivation methods and promote diversification of crops across the region.
The programme aims to reduce yield gaps and enhance farmers' incomes through better adoption of weather-ready agricultural techniques. The university plans to help farmers shift towards crop varieties better suited to changing climatic conditions, addressing both productivity and sustainability concerns.
