Rahul Gandhi accuses Delhi Police of brutality against students, refuses to register FIR

Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has accused Delhi Police of refusing to register an FIR in connection with alleged assault on students. He claimed that students from Kerala and Rajasthan, including Athira and Ritu, were beaten by Delhi Police.
Gandhi said he has spoken with Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala and Rajasthan PCC chief Govind Singh Dotasra. A "zero FIR" has been filed in Kerala, and he vowed to pursue legal action against responsible officers in Kerala, Rajasthan, and courts. He stated that Delhi Police's alleged brutality would not go unpunished.
Drawing a historical parallel, Gandhi invoked the 1930 Dharasana salt march led by Sarojini Naidu, where unarmed satyagrahis faced police lathis without resistance. He said police may break bones but cannot break satyagraha, and praised India's youth, particularly women, as fearless and united in defending democracy.
Gandhi released a video featuring a student describing alleged police threats and coercion, and showed him calling the Kerala Home Minister to request an FIR registration.
