BJP Hijacked My Party: Mamata Slams EC's TMC Order as Illegal

Former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday denounced the Election Commission's order freezing the Trinamool Congress's name and election symbol as illegal. She said she would not surrender and would continue challenging the decision.

Banerjee also announced support for the Congress candidate in the Nandigram bypoll. This came after Sanchita Dey Pradhan, fielded by the Mamata-led faction, met West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari and withdrew her candidature from the seat.
