Congress Workers Protest In Lucknow, Demand CEC Gyanesh Kumar's Resignation

Congress leaders and workers protested in Lucknow on Friday demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Led by Uttar Pradesh Congress in-charge Rajendra Pal Gautam and state president Ajay Rai, protesters marched from the Pradesh Congress headquarters towards the Chief Electoral Officer's office, raising slogans accusing the CEC of favouring the BJP.
Police deployed barricades near Mall Avenue, halting the march. A brief scuffle occurred when protesters attempted to cross. Police detained Gautam, Rai, Congress Legislature Party leader Aradhana Mishra Mona, MP Rakesh Rathore and other party leaders, later releasing them from Eco Garden.
Gautam accused Kumar of betraying the country and alleged the Election Commission had become the BJP's "B team". He demanded Kumar's immediate resignation and strict action, claiming constitutional powers were being misused to benefit the BJP.
