Rahul Gandhi launches 'Satyagraha' website amid poll panel protests

Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi launched the 'Satyagraha' digital platform on Saturday, October 3, 2026, to map resistance movements across the country. The initiative comes amid ongoing protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged disparities in handling the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
In announcing the platform, Gandhi stated that people across the country were fighting for their rights and were "too often fighting alone." He listed Gen Z, students, farmers, Adivasis, Dalits, and women among those involved in different struggles. According to Gandhi, 'Satyagraha' is an initiative to bring these voices together on one map. Opposition leaders, civil society, and youth-led organisations have been protesting in various parts of the country demanding the removal of the Chief Election Commissioner.
In a video posted on social media, Gandhi said the "truth was being suppressed" and emphasized that as Leader of the Opposition, it is his responsibility to help in the resistance against this. The 'Satyagraha' platform received over 10,000 responses within nine hours of its launch.
