Rahul Gandhi will lead INDIA alliance in 2029 polls, says KC Venugopal

Congress organizational secretary and Lok Sabha MP KC Venugopal on Sunday said Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in Parliament, will lead the INDIA coalition in the 2029 general elections. Speaking to reporters in Thrissur, Kerala, Venugopal rejected reports that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and TVK chief C. Joseph Vijay had been proposed as a prime ministerial candidate by his party.

Venugopal stated that TVK made no such demand and cautioned against creating confusion. He emphasized that Gandhi will be the face of the INDIA alliance, noting the widespread national attention Gandhi's political campaigns on student, farmer, and youth issues have garnered.
