Rahul Gandhi pays tribute to slain Manipuri musician, decries violence

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi attended a memorial service for Chongtham Vikram Singh, a Manipuri musician who was fatally assaulted outside his residence in Kilokari, southeast Delhi. Singh died after being attacked by a group of men whom he had objected to for creating noise disturbances.

Addressing the gathering, Gandhi remarked that the tragedy lay in Singh being targeted because of his regional origin. The incident has drawn attention to issues of regional discrimination and violence in the capital.
