Railway projects worth ₹20,000 crore underway in Kerala: Vaishnaw

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that railway works valued at over ₹20,000 crore are currently underway in Kerala. The minister highlighted the scale of infrastructure development being pursued in the state.
However, progress on several sanctioned railway lines and doubling projects has been slowed by land acquisition delays. Officials have identified this as a key bottleneck affecting project timelines across the region.
Mangaluru will continue to remain under the South Western Railways (SWR) zone, according to the minister's statement.
