Railways deploys drones to tackle stone pelting, theft and enhance passenger safety

Indian Railways has begun deploying drones across its network to address persistent security challenges including stone pelting, theft, and other criminal activities threatening passenger safety.
The drone deployment aims to provide real-time surveillance and monitoring of rail corridors, particularly in vulnerable sections prone to incidents. This move is intended to deter offenders and enable quicker response to security threats.
The initiative reflects Railways' effort to modernize its security infrastructure and protect commuters and rail assets. Drones will assist in identifying suspicious activities and monitoring high-risk zones more effectively than traditional ground-based methods.
