Rural job demand surges 25% under VB-G RAM G scheme in September

Rural job demand under the VB-G RAM G scheme jumped significantly in September, with a 25.2% month-on-month increase. Approximately 15.6 million households applied for work under the program, a substantial rise from 12.5 million in August.
The number of individuals seeking employment also climbed to 18.8 million in September, compared to 15.4 million in August. The scheme, which was launched in July, guarantees annual employment of 125 days to rural workers.
The sharp uptick in applications reflects growing demand for guaranteed work opportunities in rural areas, underscoring the scheme's expanding reach and relevance among households seeking livelihood support.
