RTI activism is 'new business': Supreme Court denies pre-arrest bail to Punjab activists

The Supreme Court has denied anticipatory bail to RTI activists from Punjab who were accused of obstructing road construction work. The court's decision came while dismissing their claims, with the bench characterising RTI activism as a "new business."
The activists had sought pre-arrest bail, citing their work in seeking information through Right to Information requests. However, the court rejected their plea in relation to charges of obstructing public works.
