SC directs EC to review notice issuance process in Delhi SIR

The Supreme Court has directed the Election Commission to review its process for issuing notices under the Systematic Voters' Rolls Purification (SVRP) initiative in Delhi, expressing concern that notices are being sent out mechanically.
The Court asked the EC to consider implementing additional safeguards and to clearly define the basis for identifying 'logical discrepancies' in voter records. The direction comes as the EC works to maintain the accuracy of electoral rolls ahead of elections.
The SC's intervention seeks to ensure that voters are not unnecessarily disenfranchised due to procedural lapses in the notice and verification process.
