Supreme Court gives Centre more time on three-language policy exemption

The Supreme Court has granted the Centre additional time to examine a proposal to exempt students currently in Class 6 from the mandatory three-language formula in schools.
Chief Justice Kant observed that the government could use the extension to develop incentive schemes encouraging children to voluntarily pursue a third language in their studies.
The matter relates to the implementation of the three-language policy framework and its applicability to students at different academic levels.
