Centre seeks to void Jharkhand DGP appointment citing Supreme Court order

The Centre has moved the Supreme Court seeking to nullify the appointment of Tadasha Mishra as Jharkhand Director General of Police. The challenge contends that the appointment violates procedures established in the Supreme Court's landmark 2006 Prakash Singh judgment, which laid down guidelines for police administration.
The Centre also claimed that prior DGP appointments in Jharkhand had similarly breached these procedures. Mishra's appointment, made shortly before her retirement, has raised legal concerns regarding its compliance with constitutional norms for such postings.
