SC urges Tamil Nadu to find land for Navodaya schools, engage Centre on Hindi issue

The Supreme Court has urged Tamil Nadu to identify suitable land for establishing Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) in the state and to engage with the Centre on concerns regarding Hindi as a medium of instruction.
The court invoked the principle of cooperative federalism, emphasizing that JNVs would serve to supplement Tamil Nadu's existing education system rather than undermine it. The apex court's intervention aims to facilitate dialogue between the state government and the Centre on resolving the contentious issue of language policy in these schools.
