Supreme Court directs Centre to frame rules for police body-worn cameras within 6 months

The Supreme Court has directed the Centre to formulate rules governing the use of body-worn cameras by police personnel within six months. The court's order comes as part of efforts to enhance accountability and transparency in law enforcement operations.
The directive requires the government to establish clear guidelines on deployment, data storage, privacy protections, and operational procedures for body-worn camera systems across Indian police forces.
