Supreme Court seeks UP government affidavit on Yamuna Expressway bus fire

The Supreme Court has sought an affidavit from the Uttar Pradesh government regarding action taken against the driver and owner of a sleeper bus that caught fire on the Yamuna Expressway in Greater Noida last month, killing nine passengers.
The court's directive comes as part of its investigation into the incident and compliance with safety regulations. The bench has asked the state government to provide details on arrests made and measures taken to prevent similar incidents.
The fire, which occurred on the expressway, raised concerns about passenger safety standards and vehicle maintenance protocols in inter-state bus operations.
