Supreme Court to hear Telangana MLA's challenge to disqualification on September 23

The Supreme Court has scheduled a hearing for September 23 on a plea filed by a Telangana MLA challenging his disqualification from the state assembly. The legislator had contested the Lok Sabha elections on a Congress ticket, which led to his seat being declared vacant. A high court had ruled that the MLA's Khairatabad seat became vacant from April 23, 2024, following his candidacy in the national polls.
