Supreme Court asks Tamil Nadu to drop anti-Hindi mindset in Navodaya schools case

The Supreme Court, in a hearing on the Navodaya schools case, urged Tamil Nadu to abandon what it termed an anti-Hindi mindset. Justice Nagarathna, leading a bench that included Justice A.G. Masih, called for mutual respect between the two governments, stating that Chennai should not alienate Delhi and vice versa.
Tamil Nadu countered that language is a fundamental right of its people. The state has previously resisted Hindi-medium instruction in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya schools operating within its territory, citing concerns over imposition of the language.
