Supreme Court issues notice to Ramesh Mhatre in Thane doctor assault case
The Supreme Court has issued a notice to Ramesh Mhatre in connection with a plea filed by the State challenging the bail granted to him in a case involving assault on doctors in Thane.
On July 18, the High Court had stayed the bail previously granted by the lower court, terming the order "perverse". The High Court had also directed Mhatre to surrender before police following the stay on bail.
The matter is now before the Supreme Court as the State has challenged the bail grant.
