SGPC blocks Manmohan Singh portrait in Central Sikh Museum 16 months after approval

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has not installed a portrait of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at the Central Sikh Museum, over 16 months after granting approval, according to former Punjab civil servant K.B.S. Sidhu. The delay was highlighted on Saturday, marking Singh's 94th birth anniversary.
No official reason has been stated for the hold-up on the portrait installation, which was previously cleared by the SGPC, the apex body managing major Sikh gurdwaras.
