Shillong Law College to Host Intra Moot Competition in October 2026

The Shillong Law College will conduct a two-day Intra Moot Court Competition in October 2026. The event, organised by the Moot Court Society, aims to foster legal acumen, drafting capability, advocacy skills and rule of law sensibility among law students.

The competition is open to bonafide students pursuing either the three-year LL.B. or five-year integrated B.A. LL.B. courses. Preliminary rounds and quarter finals are scheduled for October 9, 2026, followed by semi-finals, finals and a valedictory session on October 10, 2026.

The moot proposition, titled "Maya v. State of Moh," involves a constitutional and criminal law dispute centring on freedom of speech and expression, public order, criminal liability, arrest and detention, and privacy in relation to electronic devices.
