Split in Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena UBT changes the Lok Sabha picture
A major split in Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena (UBT) has changed the entire political picture in the Lok Sabha. At Thursday's parliamentary party meeting, 6 of the party's MPs were absent, bringing the controversy to light.
The political front that started in Maharashtra has now shifted its center to Delhi. In this situation, there are clear signs that Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's influence within the NDA is set to grow.
Currently, the NDA has the support of 293 MPs in the Lok Sabha. After this split, with the support of the Trinamool Congress and other groups, the NDA's tally could even cross 300.
