Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Arvind Sawant Denies Rebellion Rumours, Demands Proof

Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Arvind Sawant on Tuesday strongly rejected speculation of a rebellion within the party, demanding journalists provide concrete evidence of any alleged defection. Speaking to reporters, Sawant said no rebel group had formally emerged and questioned the credibility of reports about party legislators expressing dissatisfaction.
Sawant challenged the media to verify claims with sources before reporting, asking for photographic or documentary proof of alleged meetings between legislators and political figures. He urged news organisations to establish facts before circulating unverified reports of political defections.
The party leader also criticised media focus on political speculation, arguing that serious issues affecting citizens—including constitutional matters, economic challenges and financial irregularities—deserved greater attention than unsubstantiated reports of party divisions.
