Singer Aditya Gadhvi Denies Endorsing Exclusionary Garba Event Announcement

Gujarati folk singer Aditya Gadhvi has clarified that he did not authorize or endorse an announcement at a garba event in Ahmedabad asking Muslims and non-Hindus to leave the venue. The controversy erupted during the 'Rang Morla ft. Aditya Gadhvi' programme at Savvana Party Plot on Shela Road on Wednesday night, when anchor Akash Trivedi made the announcement, citing the presence of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP).
In an Instagram statement, Gadhvi said the message was neither his decision nor a reflection of his views. He alleged that a group had taken control of the backstage area and used his platform to deliver the announcement without consulting him or his team. "My stage is for music and for devotion," he stated.
Gadhvi, who described himself as a proud Hindu and emphasized the sacred importance of Navratri, clarified that anyone wishing to participate in garba with love and respect for Maa Durga was welcome. The viral video of the announcement sparked widespread criticism and reignited debate over religious inclusivity at cultural celebrations.
