Six states sign Kishau river pact, ending 8-year dispute

Six states have signed the Kishau river water-sharing pact, resolving an 8-year-long deadlock. Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced the agreement, describing it as the 10th inter-state water dispute resolved under the current administration.
The pact aims to equitably distribute waters of the Kishau river among the participating states. Shah's statement highlighted the government's success in addressing longstanding interstate resource conflicts through dialogue and negotiation.
This resolution adds to the government's track record of settling multiple water disputes that had remained unresolved for years.
