Sonam Wangchuk warns of 'people's tribunal' if judicial panel delays report on police action

Ladakh activist Sonam Wangchuk has criticized the delay in releasing a judicial panel's report on police action from September 2025. Wangchuk stated that civil society groups may establish a 'people's tribunal' to investigate what he described as 'police excess and firing' if the panel does not submit its findings promptly.
The activist's remarks underscore growing frustration over the pace of the official inquiry into the incident. Wangchuk has called for accountability and transparency regarding the police response during the September events in the region.
