Sourav Ganguly Files Defamation Complaint Against Social Media Page; FIR Registered in Kolkata

Former Indian cricket team captain and Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) President Sourav Ganguly has filed a defamation complaint with Kolkata Police. The complaint targets a Facebook page named 'Sourav Ganguly fans' and the media platform Sportzwiki, which he alleged were attempting to tarnish his image. An FIR has been registered at Thakurpukur Police Station.

In his complaint, Ganguly stated that the page was continuously sharing posts intended to malign his reputation and create negative public perception. While acknowledging that criticism is part of public life, he argued that spreading misleading and defamatory content with intent to cause harm requires legal action. He requested police to take necessary action against the individuals or groups operating the page.
