Fraser-McGurk scores fastest ODI Cup fifty in 14 balls, falls short of world record

Jake Fraser-McGurk etched his name in One-Day Cup history by scoring the fastest half-century in the tournament's history, reaching 50 runs off just 14 balls. Playing for South Australia against Queensland at the Karen Rolton Oval, the batter went on to compile 122 runs from 63 deliveries, a devastating innings featuring 10 fours and 9 sixes.
Fraser-McGurk's explosive batting was instrumental in South Australia's strong total. Partnering with Nathan McSweeney, who contributed 106, the duo built a commanding platform that helped the team reach 397 for 7 wickets in their innings. The aggressive approach showcased by Fraser-McGurk demonstrated exceptional batting prowess and strike-rate excellence.
While Fraser-McGurk's record-breaking fifty was a remarkable achievement in One-Day Cup cricket, it fell short of the global fastest fifty mark, currently held by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. Nevertheless, his performance underlined his reputation as a striking batsman capable of changing the course of a match.
