Stalin slams TVK govt's first budget as 'wasteful remake' of DMK schemes

Tamil Nadu's newly-formed Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) government presented its first budget on Wednesday for financial year 2026-27 in the state assembly. Finance Minister Dr. N. Mary Wilson laid out the budget, which emphasises investments in artificial intelligence, security, and welfare schemes for women.
Former Chief Minister MK Stalin dismissed the budget as entirely ineffectual, describing it as a remake of DMK government programmes. On social media, Stalin remarked that while people expected the budget to be "blast," it turned out to be merely "waste." He suggested the blueprint lacked originality and failed to deliver substantive new initiatives for the state.
