Sugar and onion prices stabilise after government interventions, but onion outlook remains bullish
Daily staple prices have stabilised following strong government interventions. Sugar prices have been contained, now trading in the range of ₹44–49 per kilogram, while onion wholesale prices have reversed by ₹4–5 per kilogram from recent highs.
The price corrections have been driven by recent policy measures including stock-limit curbs and buffer sales. However, traders remain optimistic about future onion price increases, citing crop delays as a concern for supply in the coming months.
