Supreme Court to hear Karnataka's Cauvery water appeal on September 14

Karnataka has filed an appeal in the Supreme Court challenging the Cauvery Water Management Authority's directive requiring the state to release 6,000 cusecs of Cauvery water daily to Tamil Nadu. The apex court is scheduled to hear the matter on September 14.

The case centres on the implementation of water-sharing arrangements under the Cauvery Waters Disputes Tribunal award, which has been a source of contention between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu for years.
