Supreme Court Collegium recommends 15 Judicial Officers for High Court appointments, including 5 women

The Supreme Court Collegium, headed by Chief Justice Surya Kant, has recommended 15 Judicial Officers for appointment as High Court Judges on 10 September 2026. Among the recommended candidates, 5 are women.

The recommendations span multiple high courts. Delhi High Court has 8 recommended officers including women judges Dr. Aditi Choudhary and Nisha Sahay. Jharkhand High Court has 3 recommendations, while Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court has one recommendation. Karnataka High Court has 3 recommended officers including woman judge Usharani K.S.

The Collegium's move continues efforts to enhance diversity in the higher judiciary with increased female representation among judicial appointments.
