Supreme Court orders Delhi police to establish 'war rooms' for women's safety

The Supreme Court has laid out a six-point plan to enhance women's safety in Delhi and the National Capital Region, directing police to establish dedicated 'war rooms' for emergency response. The directions were issued by Justices Pardiwala and Chandran during the second hearing of court-initiated proceedings focused on emergency response infrastructure and public safety for women.
The bench's comprehensive directive addresses gaps in existing safety mechanisms and enforcement protocols. The establishment of war rooms is intended to ensure faster and more coordinated response to distress calls and incidents involving women.
This intervention comes as part of the Court's broader initiative to strengthen public safety infrastructure across the Delhi-NCR region, with particular emphasis on emergency response systems and inter-agency coordination among law enforcement and related agencies.
