Supreme Court seeks timeline from Election Commission on Trinamool symbol dispute

The Supreme Court has directed the Election Commission of India to provide a timeline for resolving the Trinamool Congress symbol dispute. The court suggested that a possible solution could involve the ECI conducting day-to-day hearings followed by a complete hearing on the matter.
However, the faction led by Ritabrata Banerjee opposed the proposed hearing arrangement. The symbol row has been a point of contention within the party, with competing factions seeking recognition and the associated electoral symbol.
