Supreme Court criticises Assam for appointing unqualified teachers

The Supreme Court has pulled up the Assam government for appointing teachers who lack the qualifications mandated by Parliament-enacted laws. The court observed that future generations would face serious risk if such unqualified appointments continued.
The bench expressed concern that statutory qualification requirements exist to ensure educational standards and that circumventing these norms undermines the purpose of existing laws.
