Supreme Court agrees to urgent hearing on TMC name-symbol row

The Supreme Court has agreed to an urgent listing of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's petition challenging the Election Commission's decision on the Trinamool Congress name and symbol dispute.
On Friday, the EC had allocated separate names and symbols to two rival TMC factions following its interim ruling a day earlier that barred both groups from using the 'All India Trinamool Congress' name.
Banerjee's plea now moves to the apex court for expedited hearing on the matter.
