Tamil Nadu CM Vijay announces ₹134.83 crore Kuruvai Package for paddy farmers
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has announced a Kuruvai Special Package worth ₹134.83 crore to support paddy farmers and boost cultivation in the state. The package comes as the southwest monsoon has been delayed, affecting the customary opening of Mettur dam, which typically occurs on June 12.
The initiative aims to protect farmers' livelihoods and encourage paddy cultivation despite the monsoon delays. The special package represents the state government's effort to mitigate the impact of weather-related challenges on agricultural production.
