Tamil Nadu yet to finalise occupational safety framework for unorganised workers

Tamil Nadu is still developing a comprehensive occupational safety and health framework for unorganised sector workers, with health officials citing delays in implementing recommendations from earlier consultations.

Despite multiple rounds of discussions, the State has not yet finalised a cohesive policy to protect informal workers from workplace hazards and health risks. Officials acknowledge that numerous suggestions from stakeholder consultations remain pending on paper without formal action.
